Jerusalem and the Dead Sea

For those friends and family who will be with us in Israel we're thinking about taking a couple-day tour of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea/Masada sometime around June 25th. Right now my mother, sister, possibly Sherry's cousin Jordie, and I are in. If you're interested in joining us hit me up.

Venice Beach

Some folks are asking what there is to do in the area when they come down for our wedding. Venice Beach is just a mile away and what more could you want to do than hang out with Harry Perry, the rollerblading guitar playing sikh?

Our wedding website

We put up a wedding website at theknot.com with information on location, dates, travel, and accommodatio.

Congratulations from Mr. and Mrs. Obama

I was just flipping through my wedding planning book and read that if you send an invitation to the President and First Lady you'll get a lovely note congratulating you on your marriage. This is awesome. I'm totally going to do it!

We were so excited to go to the courthouse this morning to pick up our marriage license but when we got to Sherry's car we saw that the back window was smashed out. Fortunately there was nothing stolen but it really put a damper on our plans. We're now off to the auto glass repair shop and hopefully we can get to the courthouse tomorrow.

I just submitted our application for a mariage license online. It was one of those moments when I realized that this is all really happening. I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather spend my life with.

Book'em, Danno

Here we are booking our flights to Israel with our travel agent, Freda Biren, at Travel Galore. She has been booking tickets for the Amranis for years and feels like family even though I hadn't met her before.

Afterwards, with Israel on my mind, we went to the Israeli grocery down the street to satiate my apetite for middle easter food. I can't wait to eat the jachnun which takes ten hours of baking to prepare.

Hopefully we won't be paying any visits to Dr. Praeger's office for at least a little while.

Royal engagement

I just read that Prince William and Kate Middleton may be getting married the same weekend as us. That's going to be awkward.

Update: Thank goodness, it's just their engagement that will be announced that weekend.

Pulling the trigger

We're about to pull the trigger on the yacht in Marina Del Rey for our wedding here in the states! I just have to fax in all of the paper work in the morning and then we'll call it official. Tonight we've been busy looking at wedding bands, gift registries, and guests lists. It's exhausting. Here's a photo of Sherry filling out registry information.

A Three Hour Tour

If we get married on a boat I'd love to wear a navy blue double breasted suit with an ascot but I think she'd kill me.

Prince would fit right in

Here's a link to the place that Sherry and I are going to get married at in Israel http://www.telya.co.il/English/. Wedding venues in Israel look very similar to ones here in the states except they really like their purple club lights. I joke about it with Sherry but the place looks amazing and I'm really excited about it. Now we just need to start inviting guests. Sherry is reading over my shoulder and says the lights are not always purple and to stop giving her a hard time. Ok, ok. I'll stop.

Bow-wow-wow yippy-yo yippy-yay

Since Sherry got our Israeli wedding scheduled for the 29th of June this really means that I need to get my butt in gear and plan something here in the states. The other day my brother, Steve, suggested a yacht wedding. Yesterday Sherry and I went to the FantaSea Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey check out what they had to offer. After seeing that Snoop Dog got married on one of the boats I was pretty much hooked, considering that he and I are so similar. We loved the wedding packages that they had and the prices and we loved that they had something available in early June. After drinking a latte, a mimosa, and walking around the deck in the sunshine I got a little seasick, even though the boat wasn't moving. That worries me a little bit (wow, we're having an earthquake as I write this) so I think I'd need to take some dramamine if we decide to get married there. If we do it won't be a huge ceremony, mostly very close friends and family. We'll let you know what we decide.
